This service is most appropriate to small/medium sized companies who have exposure to geographical areas where there is risk due to the presence of the company and its staff. Examples would be mining, oil exploration and such like in South America, Eastern Bloc and the Middle East.

Start up companies and those graduating to the AIM index of the LSE are most exposed due to the focus on building business. Non statutory safety requirements and certainly personal safety for even key individuals is usually absent.

Incidents involving key members of staff, such as Board members can cripple the progress of company business. Examples are as follows and are not uncommon.

Injury and hospitalisation overseas
Loss of passport and personal documentation
Targeted by local criminals. Usually mugging or burglary.
Targeted by local police. Found to have drugs on them.
Targeted by more organised criminals. Susceptible to bribery and blackmail.
Kidnap by criminals for money
Kidnap by terrorists for exchange for money , people, government statements and actions.
Killed
Simply missing for no apparent reason.

Incidents involving the presence of a company are also common. They are often seen as representing the western world, affluent, white, Christian, exploiters of land and people, exposed, naïve, an easy target. Examples where problems can occur are:

No critical incident management capability in place linked to business continuity.
Nobody to contact 24/7 for help. Governments and embassies are mostly post incident effective at best. Does a company really want to have to adopt a ‘Yellow Pages’ approach and buy in advice from people they have never met and who themselves do not know the company or what to do.

What we offer to companies

The service has to be tailored to your exact needs. An initial meeting with the Board to explain who we are and what we can offer is essential.

The Director of Covert Protection is a former Assistant Chief Constable with 30 years experience in dealing with VIP protection, critical incident management and personal safety with extensive knowledge and experience in relation to personal and organisational protection both in the UK and overseas.

As Director of my company I only employ individuals who I know and are ex Police, Security Services (MI5), Secret Service (MI6), Special Forces, and selected agencies. All have to have been vetted by the UK Government to ‘SC’ or equivalent. I know them personally.

If your company engages for business we will carry out an initial risk assessment having due regard to its current and future intended activity, and provide a number of options which will mitigate those risks.

At the very least, your Board members and key staff you wish to nominate will be offered Protection Profiling. This involves a comprehensive interview with each person and the compilation of a profile pack which will be retained by your company. It includes a full description, digital photographs, taking of samples for DNA, and other processes which will enable us to deal more effectively with an incident. Should the need arise we can attend your company, collect the profile pack and have readily at hand all the documentation needed to locate and protect the individual. It will also be in a format required by Interpol and save vital time.

If your company wishes to retain our services we will be contactable 24/7 on a special number. If the concern cannot be resolved at distance we will immediately attend your company or other appropriate location and deal.

The service can be extended to protect the families of key company staff. This is important if they intend to travel overseas with them or if they are left in the UK with the knowledge that we are there for them as well if issues of concern arise.
