Who is this for?
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is for those looking to start teaching adult learners. The QNUK Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is a replacement for the commonly titled qualification “Preparing to teach in the Lifelong learning sector” or “PTLLS”.
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) provides an introduction to teaching. It develops skills, knowledge and understanding of how to prepare, plan, deliver and evaluate teaching and learning sessions. It can be delivered in a range of teaching and learning contexts. Whilst the qualification may be taken by someone not currently in a teaching role there is a minimum requirement to deliver a micro-teaching session. This qualification is the bench mark qualification when starting to teach in adult education. Covering the principles of inclusive teaching and assessment, this is the ideal first step qualification to enhance your skills or change career.
Pre-Requisites:
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. Entry is at the discretion of the centre; however, learners should be aged 19 years and over to take this qualification and should be at least a level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent
There are no other prerequisites for this qualification. However, learners should be able to work at level 2 and above.
Course Elements:
Unit 1 Understanding Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and Training
This unit consists of 3 modules
This unit develops an understanding of the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training. Learners will understand ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment and relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training.
Unit 2 Understanding and Using Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches in Education and Training
This unit consists of 5 modules
This unit develops an understanding of inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education, training, and ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment. Learners will plan, deliver and evaluate inclusive teaching and learning.
Unit 3 Understanding Assessment in Education and Training
This unit consists of 4 modules
This unit develops an understanding of the different types and methods of assessment used in education and training. It also understands the involvement of learners and others in the assessment process, the role and use of constructive feedback, and the requirements for keeping records of assessment in education and training.
